Downtown Luxe Loft: King Bed, Artsy & Brewery Walk

Stephen was an excellent host and the property was perfect. I absolutely plan on staying with him again.

This was our first time in Roanoke, final destination Va. Tech. We loved the cozy and stylish apartment. The ground coffee was in a glass container and it was wonderful!! The location was quite and peaceful and 2 miles from the Blue Ridge parkway! It also has a private patio on the roof where we enjoyed our dinner. If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place. Barely any traffic. Stephen reached out a couple of times in case I had any questions. I would definitely go back and hope I find the same type of coffee!

I truly enjoyed our stay at this location. The convenience of having so many restaurants, breweries, cafes and entertainment so easily accessible within walking distance was very apppreciated. The home is nicely stocked with items needed to prevent having to constantly run to stores. Thanks so much for this!!! In completion I would choose this airbnb again with so many positive features!!

This was truly one of the best BnB experiences we’ve had. From day one Stephen was incredibly proactive and responsive. The location was perfect, walking distance to downtown and to some great breweries. The space itself was great, even had plenty of snacks and coffee for us ready to go. If you intend on visiting Roanoke, you’d be hard pressed to find a value better than this.

Great location for kicking around downtown

We stayed just a few nights but it was a wonderful rental. Clear and easy instructions for check in. The bed and couch were comfortable. The apartment was very clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped. Lots of little touches that make a rental feel more like your own home (throw blanket, coffee/tea/sugar, phone charger, smart tv, etc.). I would definitely recommend this apartment! Owner was very responsive to any questions we had.

Nice spot a few blocks from downtown and a short bike ride to trails. We walked and biked everywhere. The place was clean, well stocked, and perfect for two people. And parking was convenient and free. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this place again.

We were here for a spontaneous, 3-day weekend trip and our expectations were exceeded! Stephen provided thorough instructions regarding parking and how to enter the building/apartment. Overall, it was very clean, quiet, and comfortable. We were within walking distance of several breweries and a 10-15 minute walk from downtown Roanoke. The view of the mountains was also quite beautiful. The apartment is fully equipped and had everything we needed. Would love to stay again if we are ever back in Roanoke!

Great location with lots of walkable options.

This Roanoke Airbnb was the perfect weekend escape for me, my wife, and our dog. Check-in was seamless, and the clear instructions especially the YouTube video were a great touch that made everything easy. The building stayed nice and cool, and the loft itself was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. The location couldn’t have been better. Centrally located in Roanoke, we were within walking distance of great breweries, restaurants, and shops. Also a short drive to some great hiking trails. I would absolutely recommend this Airbnb to anyone visiting Roanoke who wants convenience, comfort, and access to both local food and outdoor adventure. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town!

This downtown loft was exactly as described in a great location. Stephen’s intro videos were very helpful for entry, parking options, and use of the apartment. The coffee and snacks were appreciated. I’m a stickler for clean airbnbs and this one met my hopes and expectations! Plus the bed is exceptionally comfortable, and the use of a washer and dryer was very helpful as we had more traveling to do after we left Roanoke. Would absolutely rebook if back in Roanoke.

We had a great stay at Stephen's apartment! Checking in was easy as Stephen gave excellent and accurate directions. The vibe was exactly what you would expect by the pictures and description of the property. Loved being able to walk to local breweries and restaurants. We didn't get to use the rooftop terrace due to the weather, but it looked like we would have enjoyed it! Place was clean and everything we needed was available. Would definitely stay here again!

My boyfriend and I wanted to get away from home to celebrate our birthdays and Roanoke is a fun place to visit. Stephen's place was perfect for a long weekend stay. It is walkable to multiple restaurants and breweries. Beamer's 25 had great burgers and Tucos tacos are very good. Big Lick Brewing is also a great spot. The loft looks exactly like the pictures and was clean, perfect for two people, and had everything we needed. The bed was also exceptionally comfortable. You are downtown so there was some street noise during the day/evening, but it was quiet late at night. We really enjoyed our stay and Stephen was super quick to respond to any messages sent. Excellent host.

This apartment is perfect for two people wanting easy access to restaurants, shopping, sight seeing, and entertainment in downtown Roanoke. The king-sized bed was comfy (albeit firm, which I prefer), there was plenty of living room space to unwind, kitchen basics were available, and we appreciated the overhead ceiling fans for cool comfort at night. We especially appreciated the free parking in the gravel lot next door to the building. The unit was squeaky clean to boot. We would consider staying in this urban apartment, again, if visiting Roanoke in the future.

This place is really funky and cool they have a little roof deck area and a comfy living room if you’re a couple or even some friends can fit into a place this is unreal !

My daughter and I loved this place! The mural on the wall is SO COOL! The kitchen is one of the best stocked places we've stayed with tons of utensils and dishes. The rules were easy. Nothing crazy. We had a ball at the Taubman Art Museum that's only a 20 minute walk or 5 min drive away. The stairs getting up are a little steep, as this appears to be commercial property turned into residential. But that also meant high ceilings that we love. The Wifi was fast. I was able to do work. And there are just so many welcoming touches from makeup wipes to chargers to condiments in the fridge. All in all, we can't wait to stay again.

Highly recommend Stephen’s place. The location is unbeatable as you can walk everywhere. Even though it rained most of the weekend, we had an awesome time. Adorable, clean place. We would definitely come back.

We had a wonderful stay. The place was just as described and we had no trouble finding it. He had it well stocked. Since we had our dog with us, our favorite part was being able to walk to pick up a takeout order and then go to the Big Lick Brewery which is dog friendly. Our dog can get a little bit of separation anxiety if we leave him in an unfamiliar place so this allowed us to have a relaxing evening out. Stephen had great communication when we weren't sure whether street parking was allowed during a snow storm.

Great space with beautiful views all around. Easy walk downtown and not far from the Mill Mtn trails. Wonderful cycle/yoga studio just a few steps away if that's of interest. Easy parking, very convenient. We'll be back!

This cute BNB is located within in a few blocks of some great breweries and walking distance to great shopping and restaurants in downtown. I highly recommend Billie’s if you want great food, service, and atmosphere. The BNB is located within the same block as the police station . It really felt safe. We would love to stay here again.

Super cute little apartment downtown. Location is ideal, as it's outside the heart of downtown (only a 10-minute walk or so there) while still being central to everything. Plenty of restaurants and breweries within a 5-minute walk, with some across the street. Dedicated, off-street parking is appreciated. Easy to get in and out of the parking lot and apartment. Cute mural on in the apartment. Large, comfortable bed. Clean bathroom. Small table by the kitchen for working and all the necessities for a long-term stay. The second story rooftop patio is a neat addition. Felt pretty quiet. The bedroom is in the front of the building, on the street side, but I didn't need earplugs or a white noise machine. I had a low-stress stay here for two nights, and I'd gladly return.

We have been visiting Roanoke, VA for decades and have stayed in a lot of different places--mostly with family--but recently in Airbnbs where we can bring our small dog. Stephen's loft was perfect--despite being downtown on a busy street, it was quiet at night and an easy drive to two of our favorite neighborhoods: Grandin and Crystal Spring. It's super close to downtown fun as well, though a bit of a walk to the nearest coffee shop. I appreciated the easy check-in and security measures, with two different codes--one for the outside door and one for the door to our apartment. I also loved being able to park in the "police lot" next to the building--that was super easy and convenient. Stephen's video summary of the parking options was very helpful! I loved the rooftop patio and the fact that we shared the building with just one BnB neighbor & the Appalachian Trail conservancy downstairs. The place was perfect for 3 people with a good-size, comfortable bed and a pull-out couch.

Stephen’s home was wonderful! It was very obvious that he paid attention to every little detail within the Airbnb. We love the decorations throughout, and all of the little touches. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you can think of, and he also left out several snacks and hot drink options. I would definitely recommend staying here!

This is our new home away from home when visiting Roanoke. We usually frequent local hotels but now we will be using Stephen’s home. It’s very modern, up to date, and quiet despite being downtown. I look forward to staying here for our next trip.

Stephens place was lovely, clean, and very welcoming. Spacious, cozy it was a great place to stay and the host was responsive. The neighborhood was quiet but a little off the central area with restaurants being about a 10m walk, and parking was just a little difficult to find, with us confusing it with a police station parking, but they share, lol. At night there was light coming through the windows even with the shades, so if you're sensitive to that (my husband) you might want to bring a sleeping mask. The back deck was super nice, and maybe it was the time of year but sunrise and sunset were in the direction of the building. Still super beautiful to be in open air and see the Roanoke star on the mountains. Shower was warm and clean, drier and washer worked well, AC was super easy. Overall great stay. Thank you!

Apartment looks just like pictures and Stephens instructions on parking and how to get in were easy to follow. No issues parking as I was concerned at first but there was plenty of different options.

My wife and I spent two weeks at Stephen's place. Great place! Kitchen had everything we need. We had a minor issue with the dryer, but I contacted Stephen and he had it fixed the same day! I was pretty impressed with the responsiveness. That was pretty cool. Apartment was just a 5 to 10 minute walk from all the restaurants in Downtown Roanoke. We enjoyed walking back after a good meal. Area was safe and enjoyable. Nice rooftop patio where you can gaze at the star on Mill Mountain. Place was clean and tidy and enjoyable. We will likely stay there again next time we're in town.

We had dinner at Bernards and picked up some amazing desserts at Billy’s. Our host communicated well, and the loft was homey, safe, and just as described. We highly recommend staying here. Had an awesome stay at Stephen's place in downtown Roanoke! You CANNOT beat the location as well as the walkability to everything! 4 breweries are within a few blocks. The market and restaurant scene is only a 10 minute walk (about 0.5 mile). And to top it off, you have all the things you need at Stephen's place. The rooftop terrace was a pleasant surprise! We were able to watch the moon rise and look at the Roanoke Mill Mountain Star. Truly a gem of a place and location if you want to be right in the hustle/bustle.

I loved this apartment. Very clean, bright, nicely decorated and little things like good pillows and coffee and creamer in the kitchen make it. It was a great location for me as I was attending a conference just 6 minutes away. Even though it is on a traveled street it was very quiet - and I know much quieter than what some of my colleagues experienced at the hotel because there there was construction. I would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Excellent location, comfortable and immaculately clean apartment. Beautiful views from the rooftop and the living room windows. The place had everything we needed for our stay; it was especially nice to have various options for making coffee and to have the coffee itself provided.

I loved staying at Stephen's place and will stay again the next time I'm in Roanoke. The neighborhood is very close to downtown, and I felt safe as the police station was right down the street. The apartment is GREAT! Comfy bed, large space, great television options, and Stephen thought of everything including some easy breakfast options. (Granola bars, instant oatmeal, etc.) Once I understood the parameters parking was easy, and Stephen is always responsive and friendly. I was happy to be able to bring my dogs who travel with me and give them a safe place to stay while I worked. If you walk down the street past the police station you'll find a little park where they can do their business. I highly recommend this wonderful apartment and will hopefully be able to stay here again when I'm back in Roanoke.

We loved staying here! It was very cozy and the bed was super comfortable. We really appreciated the abundance of device chargers available! It was also nice to have the rooftop space. It was a little difficult to find parking but that was the only downside.

Downtown is also just a few blocks down the street and you can easily walk there from the apartment in 10 minutes or less. Our stay here was great! A solo mama and her kiddo.... we walked downtown and all along the greenway from the front door. Inside we had everything we needed... and then some! It was light, bright, quiet, fun and extremely clean. We even played catch on rooftop! We'll be back!!!

We drove in unexpectedly from the Smoky Mountains around 8pm and were nervous about finding a place to stay... we were able to book this place easily and on top of that Stephen still was available for communication and made sure we had everything throughout the late night 😊 beautiful spot- nice roof top. Beautiful sunrise from the roof top. Mountains surrounding the apartment. Very nice!

Stephen and Beth’s place was a great place for my husband and I to stay. It was walking distance to a lot of restaurants and shops in downtown Roanoke. The apartment was very clean and well decorated, with a fully stocked kitchen. The king bed mattress was very comfortable. We slept well after all of our hiking and adventuring! The hosts were very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. We loved staying here and would come back in the future!

This gem in Roanoke is worth the stay. A beautiful apartment with great art on the walls is walking distance to many sites including the Virginia Museum of Transportation. I felt safe, well fed, and you can’t beat the view of the star of Roanoke from the roof! When in this part of the world I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Great location!! The place was very clean and it looked exactly like the photos. We had a great time riding E-bikes, visiting the breweries and hiking. Tuco’s and Beamers 25 are right down the street and have excellent food to grab lunch or dinner. Stephen was a great host and easy to get in touch with! Stephen is a great host and answered messages within literally 5 minutes. The place is in a great location and made downtown Roanoke totally walkable. Cool mural as a centerpiece and enjoyed the patio out back with a perfect view of the Mill Mountain star. Can't recommend this place enough for fellow travelers. We will try our best to be back there next time we come to Roanoke.

Comfortable, clean, convenient downtown location. Bicycle themed decor is carried throughout the apartment on the upholstery, in the books set around on the coffee table, and in the Outdoors activities guides encouraging you to go out and play in this beautiful area. Which we did. There is also a larger than life mural on the wall that adds to the relaxing, chill vibe of the place. We loved the rooftop deck with panoramic views of downtown and the Mill Mountain Star. There are tables and chairs to hang out in, have friends or family over, and even a grill we used to cook up some healthy meals. This is definitely our go-to place to stay when in Roanoke now.

thank you for hosting me for my first time in VA. your home was beautiful. it was easy to walk to the restaurants from the location and other attractions.

Stephen's venue matches up to the pictures, which isn't always the case. The venue offers an instant comfortability and good vibes. Key amenities were available making travel packing easier. The location is hard to beat for Roanoke. It was within walking distance of downtown where there is tons of restaurants, breweries, and other entertainment. I highly recommend the venue for those staying in Roanoke!

Stephan’s place is nicely decorated and has everything you need. The first evening I had male company and we were comfortable with the location, walking around after dark. The second evening, I did not go out because walking around alone made me a little uncomfortable in this location. That being said, the apartment is a comfortable place to stay in for an evening!

My wife and I really loved the place. We had booked a 3 night stay and thoroughly enjoyed our first day there. The apartment was perfectly layed out and furnished really well. And the rooftop was as advertised. At night, the star was shining brightly. Unfortunately we got a phone call with a family emergency and had to leave 2 nites early. If we ever get the chance to visit Roanoke again, we will book Stephen's place again. And you should too.

Beautiful, modern, comfortable, and immaculately maintained. We only stayed one night but enjoyed being within walking distance of many great breweries and places to eat. King bed was very comfortable. Great rooftop area with a lovely view of the star. Highly recommend.

Walkable to many small restaurants. Great space, comfortable and clean. Just two small considerations, not under 100% Stephen’s control: the parking is not easy to obtain. It was a several block walk with our luggage to a parking garage, the only place we trusted to park. And the steps leading to the unit, also tough with luggage. So pack light and get better clarity on parking permissions.

This is a very clean place. Nice view from rooftop patio. Close to downtown. Walkable to great places to eat. The host is very nice and very responsive. I would for sure stay here again

We were very appreciative of the style of the apartment. It was very clean and well-kept with all the amenities of home. A short walk to the city center with restaurants and shops. We shall return soon.

Really enjoyed the stay and felt safe. Loved the kitchen amenities—especially the coffee and breakfast items. The rooftop patio area was a real treat in the evening. We also enjoyed the brewery and taco restaurant less than a block away. Would definitely stay here again!

I traveled to Roanoke from DC to take a very important 2-day medical exam and could not have picked a better place to stay. The location was walking distance to great breweries and restaurants. The back patio offered an easy escape and some solid views. One of my favorite aspects of this property is the natural light. Each morning was a calming and refreshing experience. Finally, the hosts themselves were absolutely outstanding. They were responsive, accommodating, and understanding. We needed to extend our stay by one night, and they made the process simple. Whenever I travel back to this area, I will surely try to stay at this place. My partner and I cannot say enough good things about it. I look forward to our next trip here.

Stephen’s was a great place to get away to for the weekend. Located around many great bars and breweries, it was the perfect place for a young couple to stay! Even though it was in the middle of town, it still had a peaceful aspect to it with access to an outdoor patio with lots of space.

Very clean. Well stocked with essentials. As advertised. Parking is available in lot next door. Very well at communicating.

Stephen’s place was comfy and clean! The rooftop patio was lovely to have coffee at in the morning. Stephen was also very helpful with suggestions and was great at responding quickly. I would definitely stay here again if I’m the area. The downtown area was an easy 0.5 mile walk away.

This loft is great! Super cool location close to everything cool in Roanoke! Great restaurants within walking distance. The loft itself was clean and comfortable. Very quiet for being “in the city”. Highly recommend Stephen’s place!

Great place and location. It was perfect for our quiet getaway weekend. Walking distance to great restaurants. Plenty of street parking, which was unlimited on the weekend. Love all of the little snacks that he provided. Only one con. I wish the couch was comfortable, not great coming back after a long hike. But still give full 5 stars all around because I love everything else

Stephen’s air bnb was a wonderful place to stay! It was clean, homey feeling, with super comfortable amenities. It’s in a prime location downtown so it’s super close and walkable to many fun activities and good restaurants that Roanoke has to offer. Stephen was a super responsive host and has wonderful recommendations listed on his page of places to visit while you’re in town. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend someone to stay here!

This was a great place to stay. The space felt bigger than expected with the tall ceilings. Everything was clean and orderly. Really enjoyed the upstairs patio in the morning as well.

We were passing through Roanoke for the night and needed a place to stay. It was a nice spot! Very clean and the bed was super comfy too. Thanks for having us!

We loved the place - cute apartment with a lovely rooftop view of the Star. Walking distance to restaurants and the Square. A foldout couch would be nice rather than a trundle, but we made it work.

This loft was spacious but cozy, and in a great location. The communication was excellent and clear, and we were pleasantly surprised when we got in and got settled. Stephen left snacks on the counter, coffee and tea were available and the place smelled fresh cleaned. The location was very convenient and it’s a short walk from awesome breweries and about 10 minutes from Downtown. We would stay here again.
