Hawthorne Cabin ~ NEW ~ Romantic ~ Unique ~ Serene

This cabin was the perfect location to explore the vineyards and day hike. It was cozy for a small family of three. The cabin smells like cedar when you walk in, which my husband loved! This was a beautiful, private little cabin. We would definitely return!

The place was spotless inside and I rested very well after a long bike ride on the Skyline Drive. The cabin wasn’t as secluded as expected but still offered plenty of privacy and solitude. The only noise was an occasional car passing by on the gravel road. My wife was supposed to join me but had to cancel at the last minute. She would have loved just kicking back and reading a book. This would be a perfect place to be snowed in during the winter and taking advantage of the outside fire pit and inside wood burning fire place. I intend to return with my wife and tour some of the nearby wineries. It’s was a good value for the money and is highly recommended.

This was a great place to getaway! Had an amazing time exploring the area and finding things to do! To cabin it’s self is exactly what we needed for this little getaway, just enough space and plenty to do! Check in was a breeze. The host was excellent and easy to get a hold of! Can’t wait to come and stay again!

What a great, cozy little cabin! Was a great stay for my husband and I for a mini honeymoon getaway. Host was very responsive and polite! Definitely recommend. Only downside is that there were some bugs in the shower, but that’s just something that you deal with in the mountains. Perfect for a romantic getaway and not far from convenience stores, breweries, and Blue Ridge Parkway.

What a wonderful stay! I highly recommend Cathy's secluded yet convenient cabin. Check in was a breeze and Cathy was responsive, friendly and helpful. The location was delightfully quiet, peaceful, and tucked away - yet easy to find and only a short drive from restaurants and sights. The cabin was super clean, cozy, and had all the amenities you could ask for. I wish we could've stayed longer!

This cabin is everything we needed but didn't know it until we pulled up to it & walked in. We typically stay in AIRBNB's when we spend over nights in the area but use them to basically sleep. But this one made us just want to stay & hang out. It's nearly perfect inside. Has everything you need. The circular fireplace was so nice. Simply can't wait to stay there again.

Had a great long weekend at the cabin! Was perfect, cozy, and felt right at home. Plenty to do in the area, peaceful surroundings, and you may even get a visit from the very friendly neighborhood dogs! We had a blast and will be returning!

We stayed at Cathy’s cabin during spring break, and the stay was just the getaway we needed! The cabin was so cute and cozy, and the surrounding was extremely scenic and peaceful. On the night we arrived, it was clear sky and stars were literally shining! We visited some wineries nearby and just stayed in for the rest of the trip. We cannot say enough good things about here and we’d love to come back in the summer.

Husband book this romantic cabin for a mini honeymoon getaway and it was PERFECT. It’s surrounded by beautiful views and great breweries around. The calmness and peacefulness atmosphere made it hard to leave the cabin. We had an awesome weekend!!

We loved our weekend getaway at this beautiful, quiet cabin. I would 10/10 recommend anyone looking for a sweet getaway to go here! Close to the Wintergreen Resort and many smaller restaurants in Nellysford. The fireplace was beautiful and the craftsmanship of the cabin is quite the sight to see.

Cathleen & Fuzzy were great hosts. They were very gracious in accepting our rental at 11:00 at night last minute after another local AirBnB did not have water due to a frozen line. Don't know where we would have stayed had they not gone above and beyond for us. We ended up loving the place and having a wonderful weekend.

What a lovely, snowy weekend we had, cozied up at the Hawthorne Cabin! We sat by the fire and ate toast, and enjoyed every bit of peace and quiet and serenity. It was a wonderful birthday getaway.

Very cute cabin getaway! The area is beautiful and the cabin is cozy. One thing to make sure you note - there is no central heat, just space heaters, so it’s quite chilly if the weather is cold. The bedroom does heat up well though.

My husband and I loved our weekend getaway up in the mountains. Cathleen’s cabin was in the perfect location! Not too far away from Charlottesville and RIGHT next to my favorite place, Bold Rock Cider! The cabin itself was adorable. The decor and fine details put into this cabin doesn’t go unnoticed! The fireplace was our favorite aspect of the cabin. We will definitely be back!

What a beautiful setting-quiet, great sunrise view, but within minutes to all Nelson county has to offer! Very responsive hosts and beautiful indoor and outdoor fireplaces to cozy next to. Definitely a do-over!

Cozy perfection for a cold fall weekend! We absolutely loved the cabin with the round fireplace and cozy feel of the entire place. It was a much needed break away from the chaos of life to relax and read by the fire. It was a short trip to Hill Top, Bold Rock and all the rest. We did need to pick up firewood so keep that in mind on your way up as the living room area was chilly without a fire. But there was a heater that helped a great deal for the warmth you can plug in and the bedroom has its own heater. 10/10 would recommend. The location was perfect and it was a peaceful and quiet spot.

Such a beautiful and serene cabin! We enjoyed our stay so much as it was more than accommodating and very cozy. We had everything we needed and more from a quaint kitchen, firewood specifically for the indoor fireplace as well as outdoor firewood, and coffee. Perfect size for a couple to stay and very private with beautiful views!

Was a great, peaceful stay. Loved the firewood stack and didn't have to search for any. Outdoor as well as indoor fireplace a plus. Gravel road going in and out either side of the mountain so just be weary if you are driving a low profile car. All in all a great place and very nice people. If you are looking for a place that is in the middle of Nelson 151 and yet enjoy some peace and quiet, this is it!

We greatly enjoyed our weekend stay. The cabin was rustic and lovely with the wood and stone work. It was very peaceful, but convenient to many great local attractions.

This is a very nice place to stay. The hosts communicate well and make you and feel as if they are there to help you, and the hosts acts quickly to anything needed. The house is beautiful and has just the bare neccesities to get you though the stay. Simple, it is simple. We will stay again soon.
