Tiny Luxury Retreat: Lake, Hikes, Brews & Vines

Such a cute tiny house! We stayed here over the long weekend with our two little ones and it was perfect! Beautiful surroundings, super close to wineries, breweries and all the hiking you could want. This tiny home has everything you need and then some. All you have to do is bring your clothes! I would 100% recommend this location if you are coming to the area. Thanks for letting us stay!

Tiny House was a perfect getaway. Leaving the DC area to enjoy the quiet outdoors was exactly what this place offered. Easy to find and not far from so many great hiking trails, and wineries. It’s small- but has all that you need for a comfy experience away from home.

The tiny home was very beautiful and accurate to the listing! They were so accommodating by providing all the small touches that you may have forgotten behind and could need on a daily basis such as makeup remover wipes or body wash to providing a basket of all kinds of snacks. Private and peaceful place for a weekend stay and close to everything on 151. Stephen was hospitable and communicated quickly. We will definitely be back!

The cabin looked just like the photos, although the height of the loft caught me a bit off guard as it is a very close to the ceiling, but other than that the it was a very relaxing stay here and I highly recommend visiting it!

A very cute tiny home for our two-night getaway. Just a heads up (literally) that the lofts are not tall enough for standing. We’re in our 40s and are able bodied but if climbing and crawling is outside your comfort zone, you might want to find another house. But it was a perfect size for us, very clean and comfortable for sleeping, eating and watching movies. It’s definitely a great jumping-off point for a weekend in Nelson county.

Great getaway trip with my husband celebrating his birthday. We spent most of our time hiking the blue ridge tunnel trail and Rockfish Gap trail system.

We had the best experience and a peaceful stay at this cute tiny house. But overall the hosts were such kind people and they answered any questions we had and responded quickly. I would honestly go back and stay there again!!! So what we liked the most was this book that had all the activities we could do around the town, all the restaurants list along with the menus, instructions for when we check out, they described who they were and so on and I honestly thought that was such a great idea and I wish all airbnbs did that cause it was very helpful to us to know what was around us!!!

My husband and I had a great weekend getaway at The Tiny Luxury House! The location was perfect—close to some truly amazing scenic hikes, and we enjoyed the lake on the property. We brought our inflatable paddle boards and had a wonderful time out on the water. The house was cozy and had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Stephen was quick to respond to any questions and incredibly accommodating throughout our visit. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to enjoy nature and unwind!

Our stay at the Tiny House was exactly the easy-going week we were looking for. The house was clean, cozy, and thoughtfully laid out to maximize the small space. We enjoyed the coffee and tea provided to start our days and were quite comfortable in the large loft bed sleeping at night. I would definitely recommend this space for a couple or solo traveler! Stephen was a terrific host, proactive and responsive to ensure we had everything we needed. The location in Nellysford was just a short drive from a lot of wineries and breweries. The town is small and quiet and being in between seasons and during the week some things were closed or had modified hours so late spring travelers be aware and be sure to call ahead to places you want to visit. There was still plenty to do within a reasonable distance from the Tiny House and we enjoyed wine, golf, and beautiful views which is exactly what we came for. We will definitely be back!

I stayed at Stephen’s tiny home for a weekend getaway from the city life of DC and it was worth every penny! The tiny home offers everything you can want and more! It feels secluded, cozy, and the amenities are top of the line. On top of all of that, Stephen was very responsive and ensured our stay was seamless. I would highly recommend to anyone thinking about staying here.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here! It was our first tiny house experience. It was clean and had special touches like coffee & tea, spices, etc. We are creeping up on our 60’s so going up the stairs to the loft areas was quite comical… we laughed a lot. Maybe better for the younger folks, but we had a great time overall! Also enjoyed the fire pit area. Stephen was very friendly and answered my messages promptly. This tiny house is a hop, skip and a jump from great wineries, breweries and good eats! Definitely recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at the tiny house! The decor and furnishings were so nice and the shower was larger than expected. It rained and the sound of it on the roof was wonderful! We enjoyed the short walk to the pond on the property as well. Stephen was very responsive and kind before and during our stay. The house next door was quite close so it wasn’t as private as expected but there were no issues with that. The house is very well appointed and stocked with games and cookbooks that we enjoyed. The battery operated candles didn’t work and they would have been neat at night. Overall we have no complaints!! This was our first experience with a tiny house and it was a great time! We will definitely try another property from this owner! 🤗

The tiny house was cozy and perfect for a weekend away from the city! A very cute space tucked away next to the Blue Ridge Mountains, we enjoyed listening to the birds and the rain while we had a bottle of two of wine. It is close to many vineyards and Wintergreen so we had plenty to do for fun when we weren't relaxing there. Glad we made the trip!

Viewing a tiny home on TV and staying in one was a bucket item I was able to close. The concept of the home, its amenities, and comfort, made this trip worth it, and one that will be extended to my colleagues as a reference. This Tiny home gave me everything I was looking for. A getaway, while working and coming back here, I was able to disconnect from work and focus on nature, landscape photography for my spouse, and overall peace and quiet. This is a must on anyone’s bucket list. Made me rethink of my next purchase and if a tiny home may just be what I needed haha. Thank you for the experience, and the comfort provided.

This was perfect for a weekend getaway! Loved the coziness of the home and being able to look out the window and see a bunch of deer one morning. Very peaceful and quiet.

At Stephens place our check in was smooth with no problem. We really enjoyed our stay on Pullets Place. The tiny retreat was exactly what we were needing, the location was peaceful and private. The lounging area with the TV came in right on time for some movie night action. Bed was comfortable and spacious. The kitchen had what we needed for a home cooked dinner. The bathroom was a well done experience too. If we happen to be in need of another getaway we will keep Stephen's place in mind. ✌️♥️😁

I absolutely LOVED this cute tiny house. It was unreal and such a unique experience. Even though I didn’t use it, there’s a stove if you want to cook there. Nicely sized fridge, and there were even snacks/condiments!! It was very relaxing and the bed was super comfortable. If I had any complaint, it’s that I couldn’t manage the shower properly - temperature fluctuated and I couldn’t figure out how to find the right handle spot. I only needed to use the shower once so it’s no biggie! I would recommend to anyone to be careful going up and down the steep tiny stairs. I don’t count this as a complaint, but I was drinking one night and may have slipped down once 😅 I was fine and actually laughed because of my own carelessness. I used to live in the Netherlands and tiny staircases are normal to me! The tiny house gave me Europe vibes 10/10 would recommend and will be coming back ❤️

We live not too far from where Stephen's is located and yet it was the perfect place for a weekend away for my wife and me. The place was cozy and spacious enough and extremely well stocked with essentials, in case you forgot anything.

This tiny home was so lovely! It was cozy and comfortable and beautifully decorated. And a wonderful location - it felt like a mountain escape, but just minutes from town. Be warned, the steps are steep, but the bedroom and living room lofts are so fun! It was the perfect couple's weekend escape. If you head into town, Basic Necessities is a must-try! The cutest little french bistro.

Wow! What a cool spot to adventure together for our 14th wedding anniversary. We loved walking down to the lake in the mornings to explore & workout. This Airbnb option is close to SO much! Hiking, breweries (that have incredible food), Wintergreen, Wineries and much more. We went horseback riding at Rebel Run. Incredible experience. The layout of this tiny home was very well thought out and it is built well. The lofts were great and the bed is really comfortable. We decided to use the wood fired hot tub/snorkel tub the first night which was relaxing and fun. The hosts were very accommodating and there were plenty of amenities, lots of towels, spaces to store luggage and even some extras we did not expect like snacks and tea. If you are thinking about booking this spot you definitely should. Between the tiny home and the area you won’t regret it!

It was our 1st tiny house experience and it did not disappoint. I would highly recommend checking it out. Close to wineries, breweries and Wintergreen. Exceptional!

We loved our stay! The tiny house was so easy to find and check in was a breeze. Filtered water in the fridge and some snacks available was such a nice touch after a day at the breweries/wineries. Furniture was comfy and clean! We would highly recommend a stay here!

First, the good! Host communicated very well. The Actual tiny house was exactly as described and what the photos showed. Very fun little house perfect for me and my wife, who love to travel. Very good distance to winery's on the trail with 10 minutes to Bold Rock and within walking distance from Hilltop Winery! Trager Bro Coffee 10/10, 8 min drive. Home was clean. Now, the negatives. We were so excited for a private house in the mountains. Imagine the dissapoimtment when we pulled up beside a house with two other vehicles in the same parking area. You are directly in window view of the house, not even blackout curtains, Sheer curtains only on the many windows. The lake described does not look swimable (also plan to walk directly through the neibors back porch view to get there) no mountain view unless over winter months, ants in house, snacks 2 months out of date. We still had a good time, but felt deceived by the photos of the privacy which cleverly do not show the house beside it.

My wife and I had few free days to enjoy and decided on this beautiful place. Grill, gas fire pit and everything inside to make the stay pleasurable! Set up is just perfect and quiet. Loved the trail and lake. Thanks Stephen and Beth. We will be back and recommend it to others.

A cozy getaway location! Clean, comfortable, and convenient to local wineries!

As a first time in a tiny house, we were dumbfounded at how pretty it was. The grounds are surrounded by woods and very private and peaceful. The hike to the lake is downhill through the woods and was challenging for a couple of older ladies, but certainly not impossible. The hike itself and destination were beautiful. Stephen was very helpful in his direction, and assistance when we had questions. My favorite part was after a rain when I was sitting out side with my cup of coffee listening to the canopy of trees drip to the ground. We stayed two nights and did some exploring of the Nelson 151 - Brew Ridge Trail. One of our visits was the Hill Top Winery, at the turn off leading two the tiny house. Stop by there and feed the goats ;-)

The tiny home was very clean. They thought of everything. Phone hook ups, dishes, cook ware!

My partner and I absolutely loved our stay! The tiny house is immersed in nature with plenty to do in the surrounding area. We loved the accessibility to beautiful hikes, vineyards, breweries, and the local farmers market. The hosts put a lot of thoughtfulness into the tiny house making sure it had all the things you needed. Chargers available in every room, well stocked kitchen, games, and so many more nice little touches to ensure guests are comfortable and have all their needs met. They were very responsive and provided great recommendations, and I would highly recommend staying at their tiny house!!

This place was exactly as described and it was so cute. It had everything we needed and then some. They have thought of everything. We walked to the lake everyday and fished and caught multiple everyday. We didn't keep anything but fond memories. Stephen was so helpful and even checked on us to make sure we were doing okay. One of the best experiences.

We had a wonderful time at the tiny house. It was so cozy, and yet wow, all the different living spaces felt unexpectedly spacious. The sleeping area had me feeling like a kid again, climbing into the very comfy loft. Plus, what a gorgeous location. We loved walking down to the lake for a swim (you might want to bring water shoes because the bottom is a bit muddy) and then heading to one of the many local brewpubs for a great dinner out. Highly recommended!

Beautifully well put together Tiny House!!! Highly recommend staying here. Steve was a wonderful communicator and even provided a guidebook for things to do around the area! It was absolutely perfect for a two person stay. A relaxing environment to come back too after a whole day of adventuring! Thank you Steve! We would definitely go back too!!

Booked for a relaxing anniversary trip. The tiny home was adorable and we greatly enjoyed our time there! Stephen was a great host!

Really enjoyed my stay here and it was perfect for a solo getaway. While I felt like I was truly in the mountains, (and my trip was for some hiking) there was plenty to do nearby as it isn’t far from Charlottesville, Waynesboro and Lexington. Plus, a ton of cute small towns, breweries and vineyards to visit nearby. Was a perfect central location. The hosts provided a great number of activity brochures that helped me identify dining options and some alternative things I could do if the weather prevented my hiking. The house itself was so cute! I have always wanted to explore tiny house living. I felt right at home and Stephen had everything I needed in the kitchen and bathroom. The instructions were clear and provided everything I needed to know. My only caveat is that if you have mobility issues, you might find it difficult to climb up to the sleeping area and lounge area. Otherwise no hesitation in recommending this to anyone who wants a cozy mountain retreat!

Stephen and Beth were amazing hosts. They were very communicative prior to and during our stay. The house is adorable and a great foray in to tiny house stays. The king bed was super comfortable! The walk to the lake was about 15-20 minutes through the woods which was a great way to start the morning. The house is pretty close to Rt. 151 which was exactly why we booked it. So many wineries and breweries! The house is surrounded by flora and fauna that’s lovely to observe while enjoying your coffee in the morning. Definitely recommend staying here!

This air bnb was adorable! It was more spacious then I thought and we loved the living room and the bedroom. The only I want to mention is it’s not as place is not as private as it seems in the photos, but feels very private. It was super quite and peaceful. I 100% recommend going to the lake down at the bottom of the property. It was quite and peaceful.

Perfect hidden getaway. I am 6' 3" and still felt comfortable in this tiny home. Between the peaceful location, the interior design, and the proximity to local entertainment and nature, this was a great experience. Highly recommend utilizing the wood fired hot tub, you can tell that there is a sense of care with how it is prepared for your stay. Plenty of stay on-site comfort including books, board games, and tv streaming. Perfect location if you want to experience first hand the different tastes of wine, beer, and food local to Nelson County. Definitely would recommend!

The tiny home was stocked to the brim with useful items. From towels, to robes, to snacks, to even cold medicine. The loft style couch and bed area was also super cozy. The silent nights dotted with the sound of coyotes was also serene. We will absolutely be back for future needed RnR trips.

We booked a quick trip to Stephen’s luxurious tiny house in a short notice. The host is very friendly, communicative & accommodating. He made sure all our needs and questions are met from beginning to end. Hands down one of the best host I’ve ever met. As for the tiny house itself, let’s just say the pictures don’t do any justice. It’s WAY beautiful in person! Very clean, spacious, quiet and luxurious! There’s also plenty to do in the area from nature walks/hikes to restaurants and brewery/winery. My only regret is not finding this gem sooner! We’ll definitely be back soon when the weather gets warmer. This place is perfect getaway to relax and unwind from the daily hustle and bustle at the city. I highly recommend! 10 stars! 💯

The tiny house was very charming and cozy! A *delightful* escape from the city. The area was breathtaking and the hot tub added a fun and relaxing touch - it was very quiet! I recommended adding the tub. It was easy to explore the area by walking or a short drive to many distilleries/wineries, making it feel like a peaceful retreat, almost like glamping. A cozy, comfortable well-kept Tiny House that was great for a 2-night escape with my daughters (10 and 12). Offers peace and quiet but also only a few minutes drive from town, restaurants, basic amenities and some nice hikes. Close quarters, to be sure, but the house is well-designed and well-appointed.

We Went fishing in the pond on the property and caught a small bass and enjoyed the beautiful location. The short hike to the pond was beautiful. The location to the wineries is perfect. We will definitely be back to stay at the tiny house again to continue to create memories there. I highly recommend this listing and the hosts were great!

Staying at Stephen and Beth's Tiny Home was truly a phenomenal experience for my partner and I! The space was immaculate, with one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in, and a clean, bright feel that was giving hygge comfort. Stephen was very responsive, especially when helping with the gas stove when it gave us a spot of bother. He replied immediately, and offered hands-on assistance when we needed it. The area is lovely, on a secluded country road and smack-dab in the middle of very lovely woods. We used the hot tub on our second night, and as the wind blew through the trees, the rattling of the leaves sounded like the softest rainfall. That, along with an immaculate view of the night sky, helped both my partner and I relax and unwind from what's been a pretty intense couple of months! We highly recommend staying at Stephen and Beth's Tiny Home -- it's a smaller space, with the biggest breath of fresh air.

We loved our stay at the Tiny Home! The house itself is very quirky and perfect for a little getaway from everything. It is very clean inside and comes with all the amenities that we would want from a place like this. “Tiny Home” is a perfect description of the place, it is like someone shrunk a one bedroom apartment. Although, it was very easy for us to move around in it (I am 6FT and my partner about 5FT). The surrounding area of the house is very beautiful and it is very strategically placed right in the middle of many wineries, distillery’s, and breweries. There is nothing that you can go wrong with choosing this place!

The tiny house is great spot for a relaxing glamping getaway in the mountains near several breweries, and wineries. Close to Wintergreen, Charlottesville, and Blue Ridge Parkway. Inside was immaculate. Little bit of a fun adventure to find in the dark. I highly recommend this place.

The tiny house has everything you need including a full kitchen (oven, stove, microwave, pots/pans, kettle), a comfy King size bed, and a secure parking space. Beautiful views, wi-fi worked well. Awesome place! Very comfortable space that is secluded and felt safe with the cameras in line view. Beautiful views, wi fi worked well and easy to get to close by attractions.

Such a cute spot for us to spend time together after getting married! We took advantage of the add on for the wood burning hot tub and it was awesome. The entire stay was super peaceful, just what we needed.

Stayed here for a getaway weekend/birthday trip. Not only was the tiny home fully renovated and decorated, we felt they went above and beyond. There are many little features such as books with recommendations, little snacks, phone chargers all over the house, etc. Really appreciated that during the stay, we received a message to make sure that check in went smooth and that we had everything we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here as it’s a very peaceful getaway with great hosts!

First time renting a tiny house so was unsure what to expect. This place was super cute and exceeded my expectations. Has a gas fire pit outside so you can sit and enjoy nature and a lake you can walk to. Host was very detailed and responsive which was much appreciated. EV charger was definitely an added benefit. Would not hesitate to come back again.

We have been following Tiny Houses on TV for awhile, and we were looking forward to our first experience. This Tiny House does not disappoint! Beautiful finishes, two comfortable lofts (one for the king mattress, one for the couch and TV), and a fully stocked kitchen (including coffee!). A propane fire pit and proximity to Nellysford wineries and breweries was the icing on the cake. The host was responsive and helpful with ideas for nearby kids activities.

Was the much needed quiet peaceful getaway me and my partner needed. The space was very well kept. Loved how they had a manual inside the house with things to do outside of the tiny house. Both me and my partner really enjoyed fishing at the lake, caught many big bass and blue gill fish! We will be returning.

I had a wonderful stay at the tiny house! There is so much to do in the surrounding area! I enjoyed kayaking on Lake Monacan (they have rentals on site) and visiting the nearby Hill Top Berry Farm where you can go berry picking, feed baby goats, and try some delicious wines and meads! Stephen was very responsive and even gave me a heads up when the forecast was predicting bad weather so I wouldn’t be caught off guard. This was my first time staying in a tiny house and I was super impressed by how nice it was! From a full kitchen, luxurious shower, and a great wifi connection, this place has all the amenities you could want and was very comfortable!

We had a wonderful stay! The tiny home is nestled in a quaint, peaceful area. The lake was a beautiful sight to explore. We were even greeted and escorted by the neighbor’s friendly dog! The surrounding area was amazing with lots of fun things to do that were easy on the wallet. Some highlights were Vittles Van, Paul’s Creek Trail, and Devil’s Backbone. Stephen and Beth were fantastic hosts. Would definitely recommend booking with them at their tiny home in Nellysford!

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this tiny house. It was exactly what we were looking for - secluded and surrounded by nature but also near wineries and breweries, such as Hill Top Berry Farm Winery & Meadery just minutes away! It was the perfect location for us to go hiking in the morning and then winery and brewery hopping in the afternoon. While “tiny”, the home still had all that you needed for a great stay including a gas stove/oven! The couch and bed were also super comfy! It was truly a great experience and we hope to stay again!

The tiny house was as advertised and more. The location was excellent. Felt secluded but very close to local wineries and breweries as advertised. The proximity of the lake and hot tub were an added bonus. The interior of the tiny house was beautiful and well designed. It also felt like Stephen anticipated and provided anything we would have needed and also had excellent communication. One of, if not the best AirBnB stay I’ve had.

Our brief stay was just that, too brief! The tiny home was beautiful and well kept. It was clean and conveniently located to the breweries and wineries we had planned to visit. The photos are very accurate and give a great idea of what to expect. If anything, the amenities were better than expected. For example, we were expecting the bed to be a little too stiff or uncomfortable based on the pictures but it was extremely comfortable with plenty of room. The home was stocked with snacks and they even left us some treats based on the occasion for our stay (birthday/anniversary getaway). As I mentioned, the only downside was that our stay was so short. There was not enough time to explore the property and area as much as we would have liked. Thanks for a wonderful stay Stephen and Beth!

Loved the tiny home! From the floorboards to the decor, it was beautiful/modern. The shelving & space to store your bags inside was perfect. When the toilet is used, the septic tank/sewage system will give off an unpleasant aroma that does fill the tiny house, the smell doesn’t last for long though. Other than that I will most definitely recommend & stay again.

Beautiful tiny house in the peaceful woods! Plenty of space to relax in between your wine tastings. Super close to a ton of wineries and good coffee/thrifting. Host was very responsive and sent helpful instructions.

This was my first airbnb stay and it was just perfect! Host is very kind and responsive, it looks just like the photos and the inside smells brand new! The tv room cushions and bed are both extremely comfortable and easy to fall asleep on. It is quite close to the host's parent's home, maybe around 100ft away, but they never bothered us, and I never felt uncomfortable. There are curtains in the windows, and plenty of privacy on the front side of the tiny home, with a nice wooden bench outside facing the woods. If you plan on getting on the lake, just know, it is down a 1/4 mile (5 min) tiny winding downhill path through the woods. We felt it would have been extremely difficult to carry our kayaks down and back up, so we didn't. We still greatly enjoyed the little walk to the very peaceful, secluded lake though. If you love nature and adorable tiny homes, you won't be disappointed!

Really nice tiny house. Peaceful, and lots to do nearby (particularly wineries, breweries, and hiking). Lots of amenities provided, and Stephen's communication was great. The house was tidy and had games to play on a rainy day. Just one bit of advice if you're going to use the hot tub: It's about a minute's walk on the other side of the main house, so be sure to bring a robe and flipflops.

This place is AMAZING! The tiny home itself is well designed, clean, organized, and extremely cozy! It has everything you need and more. The hosts were great and even put together a binder full of information about the themselves, the lake, local breweries, attractions, restaurants etc.. this made it super easy to plan our stay! My girl friend and I needed to break away from our busy lifestyle, looking to spend time with each other and relax. We were able to do just that during our stay. If you or anyone you know is looking for a place to relax, this is it! I highly recommend checking it out for yourselves! Overall great time! We will be back for sure!

If you are looking for a relaxing getaway in the mountains, then this is the place for you! Nestled high up on the mountain with gorgeous wooded views all around. They had all the amenities of a cabin but in the simplicity of a tiny house. We highly recommend this stay and will definitely be back!

Great tiny home for a couples stay. The cleanest and most spacious tiny home we have stayed in. Couch and living room was great, lots of space to move throughout. It was just like the photos, had a comfortable king bed and was in a perfect location. Very close to Wintergreen and Bold Rock brewery. Very peaceful and quiet at night. Would highly recommend.

Amazing tiny cabin retreat. The place has everything you could possibly need, but nothing more. We’ve stayed in other tiny cabins and this one was outstanding. From the attention to detail (very modern amenities and clean, comfortable accommodations) to the whimsical walk down the lake and the crazy east to use fire pit, everything was fantastic. The star of the show was obviously the snorkel tub, ready for us every evening. And the location is unmatched so close to Wintergreen, The Devils Backbone Brewery, multiple wineries, and a short drive to Charlottesville and the Skyline Drive. We hope we can make it back in the summer.

Everything was just as described and Stephen was always quick to respond when questions arose. The home was in a great location to wineries, breweries, and yummy food. The trip was all in all a perfect one.

This is a beautiful tiny house up in the mountains. For the location, the drive there isn’t bad at all and is only partly gravel. The location is good and gives you a real “glamping” feel. Stephen is great at checking in periodically to make sure you have everything you need. Friendly neighborhood dogs came to greet us during our stay as well.

The Tiny house was great! I was in close proximity to several breweries and wineries. We enjoyed the modern amenities the tiny house had to offer.
